Canada Wants Higher Biofuels Mandates

Even though Canada will be forced to import ethanol to satisfy a federal government ethanol mandate that takes effect next September, the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association plans to ask the government for larger blending mandates and more biofuels production incentives.

According to The Brock Report, all gasoline sold in Canada must contain 5% ethanol starting next September, and a 2% biodiesel requirement goes into effect September 2011.
