Cenex, St. Paul, MN, continues to propel the biodiesel movement with the introduction of Ruby Fieldmaster B2(tm) Premium DieselFuel. Cenex is excited to offer the benefits of a Premium Diesel Fuel in combination with 2% soy biodiesel. Since most biodiesel in the United States is made from American-grown soybeans, the use of Ruby Fieldmaster B2 also supports American agriculture by potentially expanding the market for soybeans.

"Interest and demand for biodiesel blends continue to grow as producers and consumers learn more about the many benefits of these products," says Darin Hunhoff, brand, products and marketing manager for Cenex refined fuels. "Producers are especially interested in using products that are derived from the crops they grow, such as soy-based biodiesel."

Hunhoff notes that Cenex is pleased to offer the benefits of a biodiesel blend in addition to the proven performance of Ruby Fieldmaster. Cenex-branded distributors can access bulk biodiesel at more than 20 facilities in its soy biodiesel distribution network in nine key states – Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. Several additional sites are in the development stages.

"Our goal is to help make biodiesel readily available to our network of Cenex distributors and their customers," Hunhoff explains. "This is especially important now, since biodiesel is not yet integrated into the existing petroleum distribution system."

Biodiesel is a clean-burning alternative fuel produced from renewable resources, most often soybeans grown by producers in the United States. Biodiesel can be used to power any diesel engine with little or no modification. Biodiesel has been shown to enhance the lubricity qualities of petroleum diesel fuels and reduce harmful emissions. Biodiesel is commonly blended with traditional petroleum diesel at rates ranging from 2 percent (B2) to 20 percent (B20).
