USDA has published the proposed rules for the implementation of the Conservation Security Program (CSP). This program will reward producers who have historically been “the best stewards of their land” and want to increase their conservation practices. Program payments will have annual caps from $20,000 to $40,000 up to a maximum of five to 10 years. Land that is already enrolled in USDA conservation programs will not be eligible.
