Corn De-icer Bill Is Endorsed

A bill advocating the use of more corn-based de-icers by the Minnesota Department of Transportation was endorsed by that state's House of Representatives' Transportation Committee.

Rep. Bob Ness, R-Dassel, proposed the bill, saying the corn-based de-icers are less corrosive and melt snow and ice better than what's normally used. The bill next moves to the Transportation Finance Committee.
