Corn Price Outlook Up Slightly, Soybeans Flat

The corn price outlook is slightly better than in previous years, but nothing to get excited about, according to the quarterly outlook by University of Missouri's Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute (FAPRI). Prices at press time have held between $1.90 and $2.10/bu.

“If there is no weather scare, $2 corn will likely be the norm for 2002,” says Gary Adams of FAPRI. There is even less optimism in the soybean market. After harvest, beans have been trending under $4.20/bu as supplies increased.
