FARMING RANKS THIRD FOR DANGER

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows loggers suffered more fatal on-the-job injuries than any other type of workers in 2003, nearly 132 for every 100,000 workers. Aircraft pilots were second at 97.4 fatal injuries per 100,000.

Farmers and ranchers were third at 39.3 per 100,000 workers.
