Poncho® 250 seed-applied insecticide has topped the charts in a northwest Iowa field trial.

F.I.R.S.T.® results show remarkable yields, ranging from 239.2 to 246.0 bu/A, for Poncho 250.

According to the F.I.R.S.T. plot manager, the field had a rough season because it was planted early; it then saw an abnormal amount of moisture for the season.

Protection from Poncho 250 helped these corn plants get off to a strong start leading to high yields.

“Poncho helps increase plant vigor,” says Kerry Grossweiler, Bayer CropScience product manager. “It works to make the plant and the root system more aggressive and healthy; and, therefore, it’s able to continue growing even with a lack of moisture.”

Poncho 250, as well as Poncho 1250, helps maximize yield potential by delivering superior seed protection, Grossweiler says.

“These top three hybrids are all genetically resistant to corn borer, but Poncho 250 protects against early season pests that genetic Bt doesn’t provide on its own,” Grossweiler says. “It also provides protection against black cutworms, wireworms, white grubs, seed corn maggots, grape colaspis, flea beetles, chinch bugs, and other corn seed and seedling insect pests.”
