GROUP BATTLES BIG FOOD'S SMEAR CAMPAIGN

A new organization has been launched touting the benefits of ethanol and attempting to set the record straight on food prices. Growth Energy was founded to counter an anti-ethanol campaign by grocers and negative comments from livestock and poultry producers. The group is mounting an ad campaign at a time when corn prices have decreased by more than 50% and oil prices have been tumbling, while food prices continue to soar.

The Web site for Growth Energy only lists six members so far, headed by the CEO of Poet, Jeff Broin. For more information, check http://growthenergy.org.
