Add Alfalfa to Corn, Soybean Rotation to Improve Soil Health

I found this video very interesting as we have seen increased organic matter from dropping hay in the rotation. After 10 yrs of No-till/Strip-till our tested organic matters have risen from 1-1.5% on our forest origin soils. to an average over 3. Is the alfalfa being fed and put back as manure ? With the crop removed where is the feed stock for organic matter generation coming from? High N/C sources for us just tend to mineralize.

It is good to know that corn and soybean can ensure plenty of health benefits as well as soil benefits. Rotating the crops is ideal for a better soil health. Thanks for letting know these important points through this blog post. click
