    Late November 2010 Letters to the editor

      I just read "My View" in the October Corn & Soybean Digest.  Look up "sugar the bitter truth" on Youtube and listen to the argument against high-fructose corn syrup.  It's lengthy (maybe an hour), but could change your mind or maybe even your long-term health.     Corn Harvest Still Running Ahead of Normal

    The U.S. corn harvest continued to advance well ahead of the average pace last week as fast progress in the eastern Corn Belt offset the impact of rain delays in western growing areas. Soybean harvest also stayed ahead of the normal pace despite limited activity in the western Midwest. USDA estimated 27% of the U.S. corn crop had been harvested as of Sunday, up from 18% a week earlier and the five-year average pace of 15%....More

    Storms and Flooding Cause Harvest Delays

    The past several days have been filled with news reports, photos and stories about the great flood across the upper Midwest this fall. Widespread flooding in a large area has occurred in southern Minnesota, northern Iowa, eastern South Dakota and western Wisconsin. Nearly every river, stream and creek in that region has flooded and was out of its banks in the past week, causing millions of dollars of damage to homes, roads, bridges and farm fields.
