CFTC to Expand COT Data

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has started including more detailed classifications in its weekly Commitments of Traders (COT) reports, according to the Brock Report. The agency's expanded COT reports will break down traders into four categories: producers and merchants, swap dealers, managed funds and “other” market participants. One drawback is that the COT reports won't distinguish between commercial traders and speculators, Brock Report says.
