McCormick's New Big Tractors

After getting a toehold in the utility tractor market, McCormick International USA introduces three new tractors in the ZTX Series, ranging from 230 to 280 hp.

The ZTX Series uses a Cummins QSC 24-valve, 8.3-liter engine with full-authority electronics while still meeting Tier II/Stage 2 emission requirements. The ZTX 230 comes with 185 pto hp, the ZTX 260 with 210 pto hp and the ZTX280 with 230 pto hp. The engine is matched with an 18-forward, 8-reverse full power-shift transmission. It also offers five hydraulic remotes and produces 40 gpm of hydraulic flow.

Ten speeds are available within the crucial working speeds of 2.5-7.5 mph. The ZTX also offers a “Triple Shift” feature to quickly move through the power shift speeds. By pressing both the Triple Shift and the power shift button, the transmission performs three gear changes. Triple Shift works from gears 1-15 when moving up through the gears and from gear 13 when downshifting.

The new series also offers two-door cabs with excellent visibility, new air-ride seats, a climate-controlled interior and new electronic dash.

In addition, McCormick announces its next-generation MTX B-Series tractors. With 100-170 hp, they'll offer new, higher-torque engines for Tier 2 emission compliance. The new models are MTX 120, 135, 150, 165, 185 and 200 with new BetaPower engines, based on Cummins technology. Features include a larger-capacity cooling system, longer servicing intervals, Bosch fuel injection system and new cab suspension. The MTX B-Series also offers a new AutoSpeed transmission option.
