MSGA Disaffiliates from USSF

Last month, the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association (MSGA) Board of Directors voted 30 to 4 to disaffiliate from the U.S. Soybean Federation (USSF).

“We felt that USSF had completed its mission, which was really to play a role, if necessary, to ensure that the national checkoff program was able to move forward and get past the referendum recall vote,” says Lance Peterson, American Soybean Association (ASA) board member and MSGA and USSF past president.

“It's now more important to be active in Washington, and that Minnesota soybean farmers are best served by working on policy issues with the ASA,” Peterson says.
