Mustard Harvest in Ukraine

Justin Bruch, brother to CSD columnist Tyler Bruch, is farming in Ukraine. Here he shows us a Claas combine harvesting mustard. It's running in the field at about 8-10 km/hour. The mustard seed is about the size of a poppy seed, and yields about 22.5 bu./acre. He says a year like this could bring about $450/ton, but that's out of the norm. It generally has the same pricing as rapeseed.
