National Soybean Rust Symposium

The American Soybean Association will cosponsor the National Soybean Rust Symposium organized by the American Phytopathological Society. The event will be held November 15-16, in Nashville, TN. The purpose of the symposium will be to review the U.S. soybean rust strategic plan and coordinated framework in light of knowledge acquired during the first crop season with Asian soybean rust in North America. Speakers will address the current situation, review management strategies used in 2005, and highlight research needs and strategies for 2006. Other sponsors of the symposium are the USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service and Agricultural Research Service, and the United Soybean Board.
