NCGA Expects New Farm Bill In March

By USDA indications, the Bush administration should agree on a new farm bill by March, according to Sam Willett, National Corn Growers Association director of public policy.

“Without a farm bill in place, USDA has held off on determining 2002 annual loan rates for crops. Agency officials have said they will wait up to two months in hope Congress can reach an agreement by then,” Willett says.
