Soybean growers will be able to pick up unpackaged soybean seed in bulk directly from Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., production plants through March 1, according to the company. The PROBulk Plant Pickup System offers customers a convenient and cost-effective choice for purchasing and handling bulk quantities of soybeans.

"The PROBulk System is just another example of the options Pioneer provides customers to help them make their operations more efficient," says Todd Frazier, soybean marketing manager for Pioneer. "This buying option gives our customers a $1.25 per unit discount on purchases of 250 units or more, with one unit equaling 50 pounds of seed. It is also a convenient and time saving option for growers. They pick up seed using their own equipment and there are no paper seed bags to handle or dispose of and no bulk containers to return."

To take advantage of this discount, customers must purchase a minimum of 250 50-pound units of seed, or enough to plant approximately 200 acres of soybeans. They can pick up their orders from the nearest Pioneer soybean production facility on or before March 1 using their own seed hauling equipment.

Participating soybean production plants are located in Tipton, IN; LeRoy, IL; Litchfield, IL; McLeansboro, IL; Woodhull, IL; Cherokee, IA; Hedrick, IA; Renwick, IA; Jackson, MN; Wahpeton, ND, and Grand Rapids, OH.

Varieties included in the PROBulk Plant Pickup offer are subject to availability. There is a "no return" policy once the seed has been picked up by the customer. Growers should contact their local Pioneer sales professional for complete details.
