South Dakota State University's Precision Agriculture Consortium hosts a meeting Aug. 26 about integrating emerging technologies into agricultural production systems.

The meeting runs from 8:20 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Volstorff Ballroom on the SDSU campus. South Dakota Secretary of Agriculture Larry Gabriel is the noon keynote speaker during the event.

Registration is $20, payable at the door, which includes lunch and educational materials provided at the meeting.

Topics in the morning session include field management zone determination, glyphosate resistance, GPS tractor guidance systems, carbon sequestration and effects of deep tillage on yield.

Afternoon sessions include hands-on workshops about IPACS (new pocket computers that are becoming popular), marketing corn, profitability analysis and calculating harvest losses and yield losses resulting from stand variability.
