Survey: Three out of Four Americans Support Ethanol Expansion

A newly released survey shows that most American consumers are not buying into scary rhetoric against biofuels and that three out of four support the expanded use of renewable energy.

When it comes to the increased production of biofuels, the survey found that 74% of Americans believe we should increase our use of domestically produced renewable fuels like ethanol. In addition, government has a role to play in supporting these efforts, according to the survey. Eighty-seven percent of Americans maintain the federal government should actively support the development of a renewable fuels industry in this country, and 77% think Congress should encourage oil refiners to blend more ethanol into their gasoline products.
