Overseas Soybean Crushing Grows

Bunge's plan to idle the Cairo, IL, crush plant is further evidence that bean processors are shifting operations away from the U.S. to South America and large consuming countries such as China, according to The Brock Report.

Bunge also announced that its fourth-quarter earnings nearly doubled, primarily due to the strength of its South American operations and the weakness of South American currencies.
