JACKSON, Minn. - Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont business, today celebrated the 30th anniversary of its Jackson, Minn., soybean production plant during an open house for customers and community members.
"For 30 years, the Pioneer Jackson soybean plant has delivered a reliable and quality supply of soybean products to growers throughout the upper Midwest," said Terry Garner, Pioneer production director - USA, who spoke at the open house. "As growers strive to meet the growing global demand for food, the Jackson plant will continue to help them meet that demand."
The Jackson soybean production plant, which has 40 full-time employees, six part-time and many seasonal employees, was founded in 1981. The plant contracts with more than 200 area farmers to help produce the seed for proprietary early maturity soybeans to growers throughout the upper Midwest. In recent years, the facility has undergone several upgrades to meet the growing demand for Pioneer®brand products, including expanded soybean treatment and bulk load out capabilities and upgraded packaging equipment.
The Jackson plant also recently earned the MNSTAR designation from the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, which recognizes worksites where managers and employees work together to develop safety and health management systems that go beyond basic compliance.
