We use water in some form every day. To bathe, to drink, to play, not to mention grow crops. Being involved in agriculture, we know clean water is of utmost importance, and that farmers are certainly doing their part to keep ground water clean.
This year marks 40 years of the EPA Clean Water Act. To celebrate, they're asking for videos saying why water is important to you. A simple 15-second response that at some point uses the phrase, "Water is worth it."
Why not submit something? Put on your agvocate hat, along with your techie pants, and submit a video response to the EPA's Water is Worth It video on YouTube. It's simple and it's important to stand up and show that farmers and the ag sector care just as much about our waters as anyone else.
So get out your smartphone (or flip or other digital video recorder), point the camera at yourself and spend 15 short seconds saying why water is worth it to you. Then post it in the Water is Worth It comment section. To do this, you'll need to create a YouTube account. Simple to do, as long as you have an email address. Just follow the prompt in the comment section of the video.
Once you have the account, go back to the Water is Worth It video. Click in the field to post a comment and choose the Create a video response link. Choose the "Upload a video" tab and follow the simple prompts.
Once your response is posted, be sure to fill out and send the video entry form to EPA. They need this release to use your video.
There, just that simple. You know you can do this! Channel your inner agvocate and let your thoughts be heard! You have until Sept. 14 to submit your video response.
