Soy-Based Insulation On The Market

U.S. farmers have another new market for their soybeans. Urethane Soy Systems Company (USSC), Princeton, IL, has launched Healthy Seal, a soy-based spray foam insulation. The new insulation, applied to an average 2,500-sq. ft. home, uses the oil from about 15 bu of soybeans.

USSC developed the insulation using SoyOyl, a soy-based polyol. The insulation can be used in residential and commercial buildings.
