Brazil Soy Expectations Slip

Brazil's soybean crop is still expected to rise this year due to reduced competition for acreage from other crops, according to The Brock Report. But, high input costs and the global credit crunch have brought down production expectations.
Private consulting firms in Brazil lowered their estimates of 2008-2009 soybean plantings and production, and the first official estimate of the crop pegged production steady to 2.1% higher than last year.
