CHS Inc., America's largest farmer cooperative based in Inver Grove Heights, MN, announces it has teamed with partners in Brazil and Japan to buy 385 sq. mi. of Brazilian farmland to produce soybeans, cotton and sugarcane.

According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, CHS is touting the deal as giving the co-op a better year-round grain supply. CHS purchased the land through Multigrain, a Brazilian commodity firm formed last year as a joint venture with PMG Trading of Brazil.
