Soyfoods Advised For Menopause

A growing number of experts recommend soyfoods and vitamin E for menopausal women following a Women's Health Initiative study demonstrating that the health risks of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) far outweigh the benefits.

The study found that HRT increased a woman's risk of heart disease, breast cancer and other problems. JoAnn Manson, professor of medicine, Harvard Medical School, says that women may see relief from the symptoms of menopause just by consuming two glasses of soy milk a day and taking vitamin E.
