`Stacked' Hybrids Save $10/Bag

Corn growers can save $10/bag on "stacked" YieldGard/Roundup Ready corn hybrids planted in 2001 under a new program announced by Monsanto.

The offer applies to YieldGard/Roundup Ready hybrids marketed by Dekalb, Asgrow and participating regional seed companies that license the technologies. These hybrids contain both Bt resistance to corn borers and resistance to Roundup Ultra herbicide.

"In effect, 2001 is the introductory year for stacked hybrids," says Steven Rosen-bloom, Monsanto marketing manager. "Until now, stacked hybrids have been in short supply, so a limited number of farmers have had a chance to try them. Our goal with this offer is to help farmers gain experience with stacked-trait seed so they can see for themselves the value these hybrids bring to their farms."

The offer is available at the point of purchase and requires no paperwork for the grower. For additional details, call 1-800 ROUND UP or visit www.farm source.com.
