Switch SCN Varieties To Avoid Problems

Don't use the same soybean cyst nematode varieties year after year, says Terry Niblack, nematologist with University of Illinois extension.

“Because resistant varieties do not have complete resistance, repeated use of the same variety will allow a few nematodes to develop and reproduce,” she says. “Those nematodes are adapted to the resistant variety and can build up rapidly to levels that will reduce yield.”
