It starts with the history of HFCS, then the politics and finally the health science. Thanks for the magazine, I always read it nearly cover to cover.

Ken Little

Wapakoneta, Ohio

http://cornandsoybeandigest.com/corn/late-november-2010-letters-editor#comments Corn Corn People Thu, 09 Dec 2010 16:41:00 +0000 49511 at http://cornandsoybeandigest.com Corn Harvest Still Running Ahead of Normal http://cornandsoybeandigest.com/blog/corn-harvest-still-running-ahead-normal

The U.S. corn harvest continued to advance well ahead of the average pace last week as fast progress in the eastern Corn Belt offset the impact of rain delays in western growing areas.

Soybean harvest also stayed ahead of the normal pace despite limited activity in the western Midwest.

USDA estimated 27% of the U.S. corn crop had been harvested as of Sunday, up from 18% a week earlier and the five-year average pace of 15%.

http://cornandsoybeandigest.com/blog/corn-harvest-still-running-ahead-normal#comments Crops Tue, 28 Sep 2010 04:00:00 +0000 47061 at http://cornandsoybeandigest.com Storms and Flooding Cause Harvest Delays http://cornandsoybeandigest.com/blog/storms-and-flooding-cause-harvest-delays

The past several days have been filled with news reports, photos and stories about the great flood across the upper Midwest this fall. Widespread flooding in a large area has occurred in southern Minnesota, northern Iowa, eastern South Dakota and western Wisconsin. Nearly every river, stream and creek in that region has flooded and was out of its banks in the past week, causing millions of dollars of damage to homes, roads, bridges and farm fields. This flooding rivals the historic floods of 1965 and 1993 in most areas of south-central Minnesota.

http://cornandsoybeandigest.com/blog/storms-and-flooding-cause-harvest-delays#comments Crops Precipitation Tue, 28 Sep 2010 04:00:00 +0000 47071 at http://cornandsoybeandigest.com The Hats of a Farmer http://cornandsoybeandigest.com/blog/hats-farmer

In my road warrior travels I recently shared the podium with Matt Roberts, an up-and-coming agricultural economist who is a “must see” speaker at agricultural seminars.
