Wolf Trax introduces PROTINUS Seed Nutrition Product in Canada

Regulatory approval helps Canadian growers maximize their seed investment

Winnipeg -- March 16, 2010 -- PROTINUS, a seed nutrition product that promotes early plant growth has gained regulatory approval for sale in Canada, Wolf Trax reports today. The seed-applied technology results in faster, more even crop emergence, enhanced root development, and larger, more vigorous seedlings.

“We are excited to introduce this unique seed nutrition product to Canadian growers,” says Jennifer Bailes, product manager for seed technology and innovations at Wolf Trax. “PROTINUS really stands out in tough early season conditions. Given the substantial dollars that growers are spending on seed, a product that will enhance crop emergence and early-season growth is certainly of value,” says Bailes.

PROTINUS has been widely tested on a variety of crop types including corn, soybeans, wheat, canola, grass, forages and vegetables. Results from hundreds of individual trials show that enhanced nutrition delivered directly to the seed through PROTINUS application, results in earlier, more even emergence, and larger root and above-ground plant growth.

After reviewing efficacy and quality data for PROTINUS, the Canadian Fertilizer Inspection Agency granted registration and approval for sale in Canada on March 1, 2010.

PROTINUS works by optimizing the pH around the seed for uptake of important nutrients, and delivering three key micronutrients directly to the young seedling. PROTINUS is formulated as a dry powder, designed for use by professional seed treaters. Growers interested in maximizing their seed investment with an application of PROTINUS should speak to their seed supplier, or local seed treater.

Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Wolf Trax has developed innovative, patented plant health products including DDP® Micronutrients and PROTINUS™ Seed Nutrition Product.
