TAMPA, FL – During the 2011 Commodity Classic in Tampa, Florida,
BASF Crop Protection highlighted strategies that enable growers to produce the
highest yield from their crops and build better returns in 2011.

“Disease, weeds and insect pests can rob crops and growers of the highest yield
potential. BASF offers innovative solutions for these problems,” said Paul Rea, Vice
President, U.S. Crop Protection, BASF. “We invite growers to stop by our booth to
discover the latest in protecting their crops and getting the most out of every acre.”

BASF recently announced a comprehensive portfolio plot research study
demonstrating that use of a portfolio of BASF products (including Kixor® herbicide
technology, Headline® fungicide, Headline AMP™ fungicide and Respect®
insecticide) can provide a 9.1 bu/A increase in soybeans and a 33.3 bu/A increase
in corn.1,2 BASF representatives are available throughout the trade show to discuss
these results, and the benefits of the BASF crop protection portfolio.

In addition to sharing their innovative portfolio with visitors, BASF has a variety of
activities in booth 1236 throughout the show, including live performances by noted
corporate magician Jon Petz, complimentary fruit smoothies and special giveaways.

“At Commodity Classic 2011, we’re showcasing our innovative herbicides and
fungicides,” said Rea. “Commodity Classic provides us an opportunity to share field
research and interact with growers to help them get the most out of every acre.” Growers can help maximize yield potential by utilizing a variety of BASF crop
protection products, including:

• Headline fungicide – Headline is the nation’s leading fungicide in soybean
production because of its broad-spectrum disease control and optimized yield
performance. In more than 3,000 on-farm trials in the past six years, the yield
advantages of Headline have been demonstrated throughout the growing
season in the form of Plant Health benefits, such as seed quality and stress
protection, in soybeans.

• Headline AMP fungicide – Headline AMP was developed for corn growers
who demand the best in disease protection. By combining the active
ingredient in Headline fungicide with a unique, best-in-class triazole,
Headline AMP delivers superior disease control and Plant Health resulting in
more corn per acre than any other fungicide on the market.

• Kixor herbicide technology – Kixor is a unique chemistry specifically
designed to solve the toughest broadleaf weed challenges facing growers
today, including ALS, triazine and glyphosate resistant biotypes. The fast,
effective burndown of Kixor allows growers to start clean and the enhanced
residual control increases post in-crop timing flexibility and effectiveness for a
better return on investment and optimal yield potential.
