CONSERVATION RESERVE ACRES GROW

USDA announces it will accept 2 million acres of the nation's most environmentally sensitive land into the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). In addition, another 2.5 million acres will be reserved for special uses within CRP.

For this 26th general signup, USDA selected 2 million of the 4.1 million acres offered. The average rental rate was $56.53/acre, providing annual rental payments of $112 million. This additional acreage raises the total acreage in CRP to 36.1 million acres.
