New Varieties Reduce Trans Fats

Monsanto announces a new, low-linolenic soybean variety — produced through conventional breeding — that will reduce or even eliminate trans fatty acids in processed soybean oil. And they claim it yields just as well as conventional soybeans. It will be marketed under the Vistive brand, a group of new Monsanto products where the emphasis is on output traits.
