INDIANAPOLIS — April 23, 2012 — Dow AgroSciences announces the launch of the Pretty Sure Photo Contest sponsored by SureStart® herbicide. The contest features a website for sharing photos of unexpected moments on the farm. From a tractor stuck in mud to a tipped-over grain cart, growers can upload their Pretty-Sure photos for a chance to be selected as one of three winners who will have a choice from four prizes: a Generac® portable generator, Nikon® digital SLR camera, Garmin® GPS or the new iPad®. Visitors to www.pretty-sure.comcan upload their photos, vote for favorites and join in the fun from April 16 through June 16, 2012.
“We’ve all had that moment when we’re pretty sure we closed the gate or pretty sure the weather was going to hold off, only to discover, at the worst possible time, that pretty sure isn’t sure,” says Ryan Messner, product manager, U.S. corn and soybean herbicides, Dow AgroSciences. “Unlike the moments captured in the Pretty Sure Photo Contest, SureStart provides an application flexibility which takes the guesswork out of determining the right application rate and timing so growers are sure, not just pretty sure, of their weed control.”
The contest is designed to remind growers of the confidence and dependability SureStart herbicide provides to their weed control program for conventional or herbicide-tolerant corn. It provides dependable, broad-spectrum control of more than 60 difficult-to-control grasses and broadleaf weeds, including herbicide-resistant weeds.
Benefit to Farmers Feeding the World
Submissions for the Pretty Sure Photo Contest are encouraged April 16, through June 16, 2012. For every entry received, Dow AgroSciences will donate $5, up to $5,000, to Farmers Feeding the World. Following the submission period, Dow AgroSciences will select the top three pretty sure moments, which will be unveiled the week of June 24, 2012. The three winners will have a choice from four prizes — a Generac® portable generator, Nikon® digital SLR camera, Garmin® GPS or the new iPad®.
