WORRIES OVER BIRD FLU

America's public concern over bird flu appears to have risen following the spread of the H5N1 strain of the virus from Asia into Europe, according to The Brock Report. Some 57% of Americans are concerned that bird flu may spread to the U.S., but only 24% think it will show up this year, based on a survey of 1,043 adults done in late January by the Harvard School of Public Health.

About 46% of respondents who eat chicken say they would stop if bird flu hits the U.S. poultry industry.
